Travel Teams

Tournament season is priced in advance. So plan the campaign that way.

Travel programs already ask a lot of families financially. That is precisely why a campaign that reaches beyond the parent group matters more here than anywhere else — the goal is to reduce what those families pay, not to add another line to it.

What this actually looks like

The pressures that shape a campaign for this kind of group.

  • Families are already carrying the cost

Club fees, travel and equipment come out of the same households. Another ask aimed at parents is the wrong campaign.

  • The schedule is known early

Tournament entries and travel dates are fixed months ahead, which makes the fundraising window genuinely plannable.

  • The community is spread out

Club rosters cross school and district lines, so the reachable community is wider than any single school fundraiser.

How we would approach it

A starting point, not a script. The plan changes once we know your calendar.

  1. Build the goal directly from the tournament schedule and its costs
  2. Aim the campaign outward, past the parent group
  3. Give each family a per-athlete target tied to their own costs
  4. Launch in the off-season, before the first deposit is due
  5. Keep the window short — travel families have no spare bandwidth in season

Questions

Questions from groups like yours

Straight answers, including the ones without a comfortable number attached.

When is the best time in the season to fundraise?

Most groups do best starting shortly before their season begins, while attention is high and the schedule has not taken over yet. Season dates vary by sport and by state, so we plan the window around your actual calendar.

How does our group receive the money?

Funds raised come to your group through the MoneyDolly platform once the campaign is complete. Specific terms, timing and any applicable fees are set by MoneyDolly and are covered during setup.

How much will we raise?

Nobody can honestly promise a number. What a campaign raises depends on your group size, participation rate, timing and community. What we can do is help you set a realistic goal and give your group the best possible shot at hitting it.

How does participant sharing work?

Each participant gets their own page on MoneyDolly to share with family and friends. Contributions made through that page count toward both their personal progress and the group total.
