Winter season

Tournament season adds up. Get ahead of it.

Wrestling has an unusual cost profile: relatively modest equipment, but a tournament schedule that puts the team on a bus most weekends of the winter, plus mats and singlets on a replacement cycle that nobody budgets for until the year they fail. Entry fees and travel are known months in advance, which makes wrestling one of the easier programs to plan a campaign around.

When to run it

Wrestling practice generally opens in November with tournaments running through February. Late October is the window that clears the schedule before it fills.

Why this sport is different

The specific things that shape a campaign here.

  • The costs are predictable

You already know the tournament schedule and the entry fees. A goal built on real numbers is easier for families to back.

  • Small roster, tight community

Wrestling communities are close and they show up. Individual sharing pages reach that community directly rather than through the school.

  • Weight classes make natural checkpoints

The team already thinks in individual accountability. A personal participation target fits the culture of the sport.

What we would suggest

A starting plan. The details change once we see your calendar and your roster.

  • Launch in October, close before the first tournament weekend
  • Build the goal directly from the tournament schedule and entry fees
  • Include the club or feeder program if one exists
  • Set an individual participation target for every wrestler on the roster
  • Use a home dual meet as the campaign midpoint

Questions

Questions from these programs

Straight answers, including the ones without a comfortable number attached.

When is the best time in the season to fundraise?

Most groups do best starting shortly before their season begins, while attention is high and the schedule has not taken over yet. Season dates vary by sport and by state, so we plan the window around your actual calendar.

How does our group receive the money?

Funds raised come to your group through the MoneyDolly platform once the campaign is complete. Specific terms, timing and any applicable fees are set by MoneyDolly and are covered during setup.

Can we see progress while the campaign is running?

Yes. Group leaders and participants can see real-time progress toward the goal, including participation and supporter activity, throughout the campaign.

What happens if the campaign stalls?

That is exactly what we are here for. We watch participation and progress with you and suggest concrete adjustments — a challenge, a push to a specific group, a reminder at the right moment — rather than leaving you to figure it out alone.
