Varies by state

Soccer seasons move. The plan should too.

Soccer is the hardest sport on this list to schedule a fundraiser for, because it genuinely does not have one season. Fall in much of the country, spring in others, winter in Florida and the southwest, and a club calendar running alongside all of it. That is a planning problem more than a fundraising problem — and it is the reason a generic seasonal template does not work here.

When to run it

Your season depends on your state association and whether the program is school or club. We plan the campaign against your actual calendar rather than a national assumption.

Why this sport is different

The specific things that shape a campaign here.

  • Your calendar, not a national one

We start from your first competitive date and work backward. A fall template applied to a spring state costs a program its whole window.

  • School and club families overlap

The same families often fund both. Coordinating the ask, and reaching past the parent group, is what keeps a soccer campaign from feeling like a second invoice.

  • Big rosters, wide communities

Soccer programs frequently reach across more of a community than any other sport in the building. That reach is the asset.

What we would suggest

A starting plan. The details change once we see your calendar and your roster.

  • Confirm your state association season before setting any dates
  • Coordinate school and club campaigns so families are not asked twice in a month
  • Run one campaign across boys and girls programs where both exist
  • Set the goal against travel and referee costs, which parents already understand
  • Launch at a preseason parent meeting where the whole group is in one room

Questions

Questions from these programs

Straight answers, including the ones without a comfortable number attached.

When is the best time in the season to fundraise?

Most groups do best starting shortly before their season begins, while attention is high and the schedule has not taken over yet. Season dates vary by sport and by state, so we plan the window around your actual calendar.

What kinds of groups can fundraise this way?

School sports teams, school-wide campaigns, youth leagues, travel and club teams, cheer, dance, band and marching band, PTO and PTA groups, and other clubs and community organizations. If your group has participants who can share a page, it fits.

How does participant sharing work?

Each participant gets their own page on MoneyDolly to share with family and friends. Contributions made through that page count toward both their personal progress and the group total.

What happens if the campaign stalls?

That is exactly what we are here for. We watch participation and progress with you and suggest concrete adjustments — a challenge, a push to a specific group, a reminder at the right moment — rather than leaving you to figure it out alone.
