Fall season

Football fundraising that starts before kickoff.

Football has the biggest roster and the biggest bills of any program in most schools — helmets and reconditioning, film, meals on road trips, the equipment that has to be replaced whether or not the budget moved. It also has the largest built-in audience in town. A campaign that goes live while summer workouts are still running reaches that audience before the schedule takes over everyone attention.

Season timing

When to run it

Most state associations open fall practice in the first three weeks of August. The window that works is the month before that, when players are already together and families are already thinking about the season.

Why this sport is different

The specific things that shape a campaign here.

  • A roster that does the reaching

Sixty players each sharing their own page covers more of the community in a week than a booster table covers in a month. The size of the roster stops being a cost problem and becomes the distribution.

  • Timed to the calendar, not to a whim

We build the campaign window around your first practice date and your first home game, so the ask arrives while attention is peaking rather than during week six.

  • Position groups make natural teams

Line versus skill, varsity versus JV — football already has internal groups that make a leaderboard feel like the locker room rather than a gimmick.

What we would suggest

A starting plan. The details change once we see your calendar and your roster.

  • Launch during summer conditioning, close before the first home game
  • Set a per-player participation target instead of a per-player dollar target
  • Use position-group leaderboards to keep the whole roster involved
  • Tie a milestone to something the team actually sees — new sideline gear, a travel meal
  • Bring the booster club in as campaign leaders rather than collectors

Questions

Questions from these programs

Straight answers, including the ones without a comfortable number attached.

When is the best time in the season to fundraise?

Most groups do best starting shortly before their season begins, while attention is high and the schedule has not taken over yet. Season dates vary by sport and by state, so we plan the window around your actual calendar.

Should we run donations, products, or both?

Donations are the fastest to set up and have nothing to distribute. Products give supporters something in return and feel familiar to families used to traditional fundraisers. Combining both lets each supporter choose. We will walk through which fits your group on the strategy call.

How does participant sharing work?

Each participant gets their own page on MoneyDolly to share with family and friends. Contributions made through that page count toward both their personal progress and the group total.

How much work is this for our coaches and volunteers?

The setup work is front-loaded and we do most of it with you. Once the campaign is live, the day-to-day is participants sharing their own pages rather than volunteers managing inventory, order forms or cash.
