School year

Fund the year without the envelopes.

PTO and PTA groups run the fundraisers everyone remembers — and carry the volunteer load that comes with them. Order forms, product distribution, cash reconciliation and a treasurer chasing receipts for weeks after. A digital school-wide campaign removes nearly all of that while reaching the families who never sent the form back.

When to run it

Most parent organizations run their main campaign in the first six to eight weeks of the school year, while engagement is highest, with a smaller spring effort if needed.

Why this sport is different

The specific things that shape a campaign here.

  • The volunteer load is the real cost

Counting cash and sorting product is where parent organizations lose their volunteers. Removing it is worth as much as the money raised.

  • Reporting a treasurer can actually use

Real-time totals and a clean record beat a shoebox of envelopes and a spreadsheet reconstructed in November.

  • Reaches past the families who always give

Student sharing pages reach grandparents, neighbours and relatives out of state — people a paper form never got to.

What we would suggest

A starting plan. The details change once we see your calendar and your roster.

  • Launch in the first month of school, while engagement is at its peak
  • Run grade-level or classroom leaderboards
  • Name the goal after something visible — a playground item, technology, a field trip
  • Set a participation goal alongside the dollar goal so every class can contribute
  • Report progress at the monthly meeting rather than only at the end

Questions

Questions from these programs

Straight answers, including the ones without a comfortable number attached.

What kinds of groups can fundraise this way?

School sports teams, school-wide campaigns, youth leagues, travel and club teams, cheer, dance, band and marching band, PTO and PTA groups, and other clubs and community organizations. If your group has participants who can share a page, it fits.

Do we still have to handle cash and envelopes?

Supporters give digitally through the platform, so there is far less cash to collect, count and reconcile than in a traditional paper fundraiser.

How does our group receive the money?

Funds raised come to your group through the MoneyDolly platform once the campaign is complete. Specific terms, timing and any applicable fees are set by MoneyDolly and are covered during setup.

How much work is this for our coaches and volunteers?

The setup work is front-loaded and we do most of it with you. Once the campaign is live, the day-to-day is participants sharing their own pages rather than volunteers managing inventory, order forms or cash.
